Don't Door Knock Where You Live
Mar 11, 2023Agent Renovation always tell new agents to avoid farming areas where they live. If you farm where you live, you must always be farming where you live leaves no room for days off because you're always in character as the agent.
You always have to be on your A game even when you need time off from your game as a human. It would help if you had days when you could go to the local Starbucks or get gas from the gas station without looking your best or being ready to talk business. Familiarity is great until you get too much of it. This is something to weigh carefully.
Farming where you live is similar to putting your face on your car. For me, that's a hard No. When I farmed where I lived, the division between my personal and business life disintegrated entirely. I couldn't get a coffee, I couldn't get gas or even walk my dog without worrying that I would run into somebody, and they always wanted to chat about real estate. I quickly restrategized to farming in a new area away from my neighbourhood; honestly, it just became too much and very uncomfortable. Pick farming areas that are far enough away from your day-to-day personal life, that you're able to maintain that sense of healthy separation.
