Progress and Forward Momentum

When you look at your visual CRM, you’ll get better at noticing advances in your game. You’ll also be able to identify more ways to keep leveling up your game. Your visual CRM provides you with a regular chance to reflect on where you are making progress and where you’ve built momentum in your game. 

When I look at my map and its moving pieces, I feel like the captain in my game’s controller chair. As I look at my board, I see where my time is paying me back. I don't have to think about it. I look at it for five seconds and instantly receive feedback. 

When you do this too and look at your game on this level, you learn so much. It gives you way better information than looking at an Excel spreadsheet! You see your levels! 

This visual information is easier to absorb. When you see your results literally mapped out in front of you, it’s not just names or numbers on a list. Instead, you see the connection. You see that you are taking actions and getting results. It’s covered with more markings every day.  

When you look at your game this way, it is so inspiring. You can also see how far you've come. You’ll feel like a winner when you look at your map. 

When I come back to the office at the end of the day, I highlight where I went. I mark black boxes as new leads and I add all hot lead contact numbers onto the attached notepad. Looking at my map, I'm literally watching myself conquer the land, level by level, house by house. I see myself progressing across my map. When I look at my map, I sometimes can’t believe I’ve already knocked on all these doors!

Every day I go knocking, I know I am closer to my goals. I know that when I look at it at the end of the day, I will feel like a winner. I can put my hands on my board and touch my marked progress and success. I know I did my part! I also know that if I continue to do my part each day I will win, my actions will cumulatively add up. 

My tracking system makes sure I don’t become one of those agents who sits at home feeling unaccomplished. It’s all there in front of me. My map is always inspiring me with how much I already did!  The same will be true for you when you adopt this approach. 

My system is so much better than just relying on a digital CRM. Those other CRMs or Excel sheets don’t give you any REAL reference point for progress. They can’t provide this VISUAL sense of accomplishment. 

A map, however, is something you can touch and feel. It’s tangible and real compared to a lifeless, draining spreadsheet!  

ACTION STEP: Create the habit of returning to your map after door knocking and marking your map with highlighter to show where you walked. This is another activity to add it to your habit tracker!
