Remind yourself that you are always providing value. Approach every door from this perspective. You won’t feel as nervous when you are confident about your value.
What I mean by that is that you are offering value to this neighborhood by sharing your real estate expertise.
Even if they don't want to list, any homeowner who meets you at the door is gaining valuable information about the value of their home. They are also learning about market values in their neighborhood. By meeting you, they can get to know their area better. They have an expert standing on their doorstep, someone they can use to add value to their life. There is absolutely no reason to lack confidence standing at someone’s door. In fact, you should stand with pride. You know how much value you are bringing to them and to their home.
If you had the mentality that you might be bothering or annoying people, switch to thinking about offering value. It is possible that your prospect didn’t realize how valuable their home was. Or maybe they didn’t know how much prices were going up in their neighborhood. You cannot assume they don’t want this information. You should actually assume the opposite. Wouldn’t you want to know how much your home was worth? Or how much the values in your community have changed over the past 6 months? Keep bringing that value. Visit those doors with pride in your work!
