Rules of the Game & How To Set Your Own Rules:
These rules apply to anything you are gamifying, not just your prospecting or real estate career.

The first rule is always put yourself first. I talked about why that’s important in the last video about general strategies. Yes, it’s a strategy but I also consider it a hard set rule in the game. To me, it’s not really a choice.   

.The second rule is that you must always do the work.  My personal rules for my game are: 

--Resource reallocation is always the solution.

-- I treat prospecting as equally important to servicing clients.

-- I choose long term clients over quick sales.

– I nurture and never pressure.

-- I am selective about my team..

-- I am selective about who I accept as clients..

-- I am reliable. I do what I say I will do.

 -- My reputation matters.

I call these my rules for winning.

Why do you need rules? The importance of setting rules is that they act as buffers and barriers for you. They are like standards. When you decide your rules ahead of time, they help you maintain focus on what matters. They are like guideposts, keeping you aligned to what is important to you in the game. They help you stay on a straighter path.  

Personal rules help with your inspiration. They keep you aligned and inspired to stay on track towards your goals. They keep you doing what you want to do in the game. Remember, motivation alone is not enough for you to sustain long-term action in the game. And when you are following rules that you didn’t personally set, you’re acting on motivation, not inspiration. Your long-term habits and behaviours also won’t change based on someone else’s rules.  You need your personal rules to inspire sustainable changes and improvements in your game. .

Your rules don’t have to be the same as mine.

your rules should be like affirmations. When you design effective rules, they keep you inspired and aligned. And that’s essentially what affirmations do as well.
