Starting and Stopping
May 20, 2023If you are lazy and skip today, it equates to less money tomorrow. In real terms, you don’t feel the impact of your work (or lack of work) on the day. You feel it in six months.
If you fall off, you have to get back on plan. Also do not switch areas if you get flaky on one. Be consistent in one area at a time. If you’re not consistent, your seeds dry up. That means you have to start a new game every time this happens. This isn’t a sustainable way of spending your energy.
Keep everything consistent. Keep your time in the game consistent, even when you feel you are already winning. Your output should average out over the year. If you spend your time and energy resources inconsistently, it can add up to losses in the game over time. Instead, maintain a steady and consistent approach.
I used to have someone on my team who would work very hard, eventually get a big paycheck and then rest and disappear. They kept doing this. Whenever they ran low on money, they returned but they had no pipeline anymore. They had to work twice as hard to start everything up again every time. Their game ran in cycles of feast and famine because they weren't building a sustainable pipeline .
I see this a lot though. It’s very typical for agents to work hard, get paid – say 100 grand – and then get super relaxed in their game. This is not a winning strategy. This is a losing strategy. Consistency wins your short AND long game. Every time they quit, it erased their past efforts in their farming area.
