The next strategy is to Track Your Wins and Losses
NOs at the doors hurt less when you keep track of your victories and losses. It also helps you figure out your winning rate. When you door knock and track your successes, you can use this information to motivate yourself forward. You see all of your “losses” as contributing to your wins. This provides you with strength and resolve to keep going. With this attitude, it’s easy to move on. It also helps you keep your eye on the bigger picture and your long-term goals. NOs don’t disempower you when you see them as part of the bigger numbers game.
When you know your rate of winning, you will know exactly how long it will be before you will get a YES. Each time you get another YES, even if it comes after a series of NOs, it will inspire you to go through the next round of rejections.
Tracking your wins also helps you calculate how much every door knock, and your time, is worth. When you know your worth, you become very immune to rejection.
When you learn to track your wins visually, you can also apply another advanced level visualization technique to help you switch to a winning perspective. Athletes and top performers often visualize themselves reaching goals or crossing their game’s finish line. You can do this too. It involves closing your eyes and visualizing yourself where you want to be.
For this game, you can visualize yourself writing down hot leads and building connections at the door. You can visualize yourself getting your next YES. You can picture yourself advancing your game in your target community. When you do this, real world wins will become magnetized to that winning energy. When you spend time visualizing your wins, you also become more immune to any rejection that happens. You are immersed in that winning energy.
I encourage you to build this visualization technique as one of your habits. A great way to do this is to add visualization to your habit tracking sheet. Use this new tracking sheet to help you track this habit along with others you will build as the course goes on.
