Should I Door Knock Where I Live?
Oct 19, 2022NO!!!!
I tell new agents to avoid farming areas where they live. If you farm where you live, you must always be farming where you live leaves no room for days off in the sense that you're always in character as the agent. You always have to be on your A game even when as a human you need time off from your game. You need days when you can go to the local Starbucks or get gas from the gas station without looking your best or being ready to talk business. Familiarity is great until you get too much of it. This is something to weigh carefully. Farming where you live is similar to putting your face on your car. For me, that's a hard No. When I farmed where I lived the division between my personal life and my business life was completely disintegrated. I couldn't get a coffee I couldn't get gas or even walk my dog without worrying that I would run into somebody and they always want to chat real estate. I quickly re-strategize to farming in a new area away from my neighborhood as, to be honest, it just became too much and it was very uncomfortable. Pick farming areas that are far enough away from your day-to-day personal life, that you're able to maintain that sense of healthy separation.
